[ Other - Hardware ] Open Question : I just got the Blue Screen of Death on my computer for the third time this week. Would getting Windows 7 help?

I am currently running vista. The laptop is 3 years old. It has about 50% of the hard drive space left. It also has all my schoolwork on it and I can't afford a random shut down while typing my papers for school..
