The tradition of State Nullification goes back to the Revolutionary War when the Colonies demanded that the British not interfere with their soveriengty. The Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions also nullified the Alien and Sedition acts. The Supreme Court ruled in New York vs US and Printz vs US that States can nullify federal laws. Recently the National ID Card act which was passed in 2005 has been virtually unenforceable becuase of State Nullification. It also States in the federal Constition that ONLY laws that are PURSUANT to the Constituion override State Law. So where are liberals getting the idea that Missouri can't nullify Obama Care?
