At last seizing upon a rather obvious entrepreneurial opportunity, famous siblings Mark and Donnie Wahlberg—along with their brother, chef Paul Wahlberg—have announced the opening of a Boston-area burger joint named Wahlburgers, because to not do so would be sort of a waste. The guys had been toying with the idea of starting a cheeseburger business when they were informed a Rochester, New York-based restaurant owned by Tom Wahl had introduced Wahlburgers. Former popstars turned now actor brothers Mark and Donnie Wahlberg are opening a chain of restaurants called Wahlburgers.
Tom Wahl and his brother Bill opened the first Tom Wahl's restaurant in Avon, south of Rochester, in 1955. The chain now operates eight restaurants.
Mark and Donnie Wahlberg have grown from teen pop sensations — Mark as shirtless rapper Marky Mark and Donnie as a member of New Kids on the Block — to respected actors and producers.
