Levine blasts the Fox show for allegedly not allowing same-sex loving contestants like Adam Lambert to be out of the closet from Day 1. "C'mon. You can't be publicly gay? On a singing competition? You can't hide basic components of these people's lives. Reps for Idol did not immediately comment about Levine's remarks.
The 32-year-old "Moves Like Jagger" singer said his family couldn't have been more supportive when his younger brother told them he was gay.

What's always pissed me off about Idol is wanting to mask [homosexuality], for that to go unspoken. C'mon. You can't be publicly gay? You can't hide basic components of these people's lives. Let's hope American Idol learns a little something from The Voice in time for next season.
