Hey, I would like your honest opinion please. I live in Florida, so our summers get very hot. The previous summers I used to wear jeans because I was self-conscious about my legs and did not want to reveal too much. This year, I decided to be more comfortable in the hot weather and got over my insecurity. I am slender and have toned legs. Last night my female friend and I were talking about what we wear to college class and she said she always wears pants because she does not want the reputation of a slut. I always wear short shorts to class and never given it a second thought- they are just comfy. Last night's comment really struck me hard because it made me view some things from a different perspective. I would never want that kind of reputation for myself, nor anyone thinking inappropriate thoughts. Do you think my friend is right? Should I stop wearing shorts and go back to wearing pants just to be on the safe size? I feel so bad now and totally embarrassed because I never intended to look slutty in shorts I've only worn them because they keep me cool :-( Also, I've noticed some things in my friend who made the commment. She never wears open toed sandals and wears a jacket in the summer, I'm guessing to keep herself covered (she is not religious I think more self conscious than anything). Also, do a lot of females you know wear short shorts or is that considered a 'no no' nowdays?
