A charity bike-a-thon supporting cancer research has drawn 42 Sharon riders.
Also, three Sunday routes in the 32nd annual Pan-Massachusetts Challenge
run through Sharon, according to an event press release. Two routes include water stops at
Sharon High School.
The PMC is Saturday, Aug. 6 and Sunday, Aug. 7.
The Sharon residents are among 5,000 cyclists, ages 13 to 87, who will ride with the collective goal of raising $34 million to support lifesaving adult and pediatric cancer care and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund.
The event features 11 routes: six two-day routes that range from 153 to 190 miles and five one-day rides that range from 25 to 110 miles. This yeart, cyclists must raise between $500 and $4,200 to ride in the PMC, depending on the chosen route.
Sharon is on three Sunday routes:
The Wellesley to Sharon route. It ends goes through Old Post Road, Pine Street, South Walpole and ends on South Main Street.
The Bourne to Wellesley route. There is a water stop at Sharon High School.
The Wellesley to Wellesley route. The route goes on Old Old Post Road, Pine Street, South Walpole Street, South Main Street, Wolomolopoag Street, East Foxboro Street, Lakeview Street and Morse Street in Sharon and there is also a water stop at Sharon High School.
