The recently rumored BBM Music is a reality. Research In Motion has announced its socially connected, cloud -based music service for BlackBerry users. BBM Music debuts with millions of songs from the likes of Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, and EMI.
So what does BBM Music let you do? BBM lets you build a personal music profile with 50 of your favorite songs. Each time you add a friend, you expand your music collection. That's because the songs from the profile of each BBM Music friend are available to you at any time. The negative, Greengart added, is that music services are nothing new. The more BBM friends you have using Music, the more songs you can listen to.
If every person in my list paid the $4.99/month for BBM Music, I could theoretically have access to (50×30) songs, or 1500 tracks. Home tab
• Your BBM status
Menu options can be accessed from the Home tab and include everything from viewing song details, sharing songs, commenting on songs, and more as shown in my video and screenshots.
My Music tab
You can view and manage your 50 songs using the My Music tab. Contacts tab
The Contacts tab is similar to the My Music tab, except that you can view and manage the music shared by your BBM friends. After selecting a contact then a screen opens up that models the My Music tab for music management. Catalog tab
• What happens to the songs you have in your playlists if your friend stops subscribing to BBM Music?
• When you comment on a song, how long does that live with the song and can your BBM friends view your song comments?
