MTV Video Music Awards

Lady Gaga danced straight across the cosmos in her hyperactive, overstuffed clip for “Born This Way.”
Gaga, the meat-wearing provocateur who walked away with a staggering eight moon men at last year’s Video Music Awards, is not up for the top prize tonight. Lady Gaga, who’ll be performing, called her elaborate monsters-in-space clip for “Born This Way” her manifesto. No clip shot in 2011 tried any harder. But MTV has snubbed the effort, nominating it for neither video of the year nor best pop video. (“Born This Way” did earn a nomination for best female video.) West and Swift won’t even be performing in 2011.

MTV Video Music Awards

MTV, the network of gleeful irresponsibility, has even introduced a brand-new mom-approved category: best video with a message.
MTV has invited Tyler’s rambunctious group Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All to present an award.
The MTV Video Music Awards will air live this Sunday night from Los Angeles and, with performances from Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne and Adele, the show will undoubtedly be full of rockin' music and fab fashions. The MTV Video Music Awards show is so much fun to watch because it is so unpredictable, however we can still have fun picking our favorites! Check out a complete list of the 2011 MTV Music Video Awards nominees here >>>
The Best Pop Video should go to Katy Perry for Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F). Get More: 2011 VMA, Music, Kreayshawn
Cage The Elephant and Foster The People both have rockin’ videos as well.
Best Hip-Hop Video should go to Chris Brown f/Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes for Look At Me Now. The Best Female Video is packed with amazing ladies, including Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Adele. Video of the Year may go to Adele for Rolling in the Deep --- although I wouldn’t be completely surprised if Katy Perry walked home with another trophy for this one with Firework. Best Video with a Message will probably go to Rise Against for Make It Stop (September’s Children). Other nominees include Pink’s F**** Perfect, Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, Eminen f/ Rihanna for Love the Way You Lie, Katy Perry’s Firework and Taylor Swift’s Mean.
Awards shows are known for emotional speeches, big performances and honoring celebrities for their hard work and talent. MORE: Pics from the 2011 Billboard Music Awards
