The Dow Jones Industrial Average plummeted 300 points following the opening bell, CBS reports.

As of noon, the Dow was down nearly 400 points, obliterating all the gains made on Tuesday in a bargain hunting buying spree when it gained 429 points after Monday’s drop of 634 points. In addition to the weak U.S. economic growth and Europe’s debt crisis, investors are concerned about rising inflation in China and slower growth in less-developed countries.
