the leukemia

Leukemia is a blood disease

Leukemia is a rare but serious disease. It is a blood cancer, a cancer of blood cells. Nowadays treatments are availablethey are hard, aggressive and often effective.

The various cells of the blood

In the blood, you know that there are cells: red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets. All these cells are produced in bone, where there is bone marrow.

Each of these cell lines has a special role:

Red blood cells carry oxygen and carbon dioxide between the lungs and the organs and the muscles.

Platelets are the blood to clot when there is a wound, they make a kind of dressing to the wound of the blood vessel to prevent blood out.

White blood cells are of two types: the granulocytes and lymphocytes, their role is to defend the body against all external aggression (a foreign body will be "eaten" by the neutrophils, a virus will be attacked by antibodies that lymphocytes will be secreted).
