Back at Kadluboski's McLean Street garage, Ciavarella candidly talks about what he's guilty of. Conahan, who preceded Ciavarella as Luzerne County president judge, pleaded guilty to racketeering. Ciavarella said he generally goes unnoticed in the community. Ciavarella frequently becomes animated during our multiple, hours-long meetings at Kadluboski's garage. Ciavarella maintains it was Zubrod who first uttered the words "kids for cash." Ciavarella wanted to be heard. On Thursday, U.S. Marshals took Ciavarella away, to prison for the start of a 28-year sentence. A federal judge agreed today to release a narrow collection of letters provided to him in connection with the corruption case against former Judge Mark A. Ciavarella Jr.
office and Senior Judge Chester B. Muroski.
The Juvenile Law Center letters will be available for review by Ciavarella's attorneys, Kosik said.
Ciavarella is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday at 9 a.m. in federal court in Scranton.
